All Your Cosmetic Tattooing Questions, answered

Cosmetic Tattooing is a semi-permanent tattooing. It will give you an effortless full eyebrow with various styles available and no need for expensive brow pencils or gels, cosmetic tattooing is also offered with lips and eyeliner.

Cosmetic Tattooing, it’s not permanent

Cosmetic tattooing, unlike body art tattooing, is much more superficial to the skin and the pigment colours are also much more degradable. Over time the body’s immune system will digest the pigment colours. Cosmetic tattooing lasts for one to three years depending on your skin and lifestyle.

Cosmetic tattooing requires colour touch ups yearly or bi-yearly, but at least you won’t be stuck forever with a tattoo that you don’t like.

Two appointment sessions are needed to get your ideal cosmetic tattoo

1st appointment session, and 2nd appointment four weeks later for a colour touch-up. If there’s minor imperfections after the 1st appointment the colour touch up will fix these.

Do some skin types retain ink better than others

Very oily skin types are the most difficult skin type to work with and will need more regular colour touch ups.

The 90 minutes is the consultation including the design drawn onto the cosmetic tattoo area for the clients approval, we also apply the numbing cream at the beginning of the consultation. The procedure is approximately 60 minutes, allow 3 hours for the first cosmetic tattoo appointment. The 4 week colour touch up appointment is up to 90 minutes.

Does a cosmetic tattoo hurt during procedure

Each person is different, applying the topical numbing cream takes away any pain if any, the best explanation is that you may feel some pressure and a scratch like sensation. Some people feel little and others feel a slight pain, however once procedure is complete there is no pain.

Your cosmetic tattoo will lighten considerably after the first week

A cosmetic tattoo will always look darker during the healing period. Its important to follow the aftercare instructions as instructed and within the aftercare pack.

The first 3 days are where the cosmetic tattoo where your cosmetic tattoo looks darker. Days four & five the little scabs start to fall off & by days seven and eight you can actually see the cosmetic tattoo result underneath, it’s important NOT to pick the scabs as you will risk losing the colour pigments.

The cosmetic tattoo will be 50% to 75% lighter than the day one cosmetic tattoo with the fading, the look fades significantly.
